Have I met the target audience

This is my web site after creating it on photoshop

the target audience i set out for when i started my project was the younger generation from 13-30 I think by looking at my website I believe that I hit the target audience my website is on application on mobile devices  so i think that itself hits the younger generation because smart phones have recently hit the market and are mostly used by the younger generation so I had to create a website depending on the type of audience I was looking to attract to my 1 page website I believe i did with the colours and even the logo i create I think it really would attract the younger audience. i also included links to Facebook, twitter and you tube so that is most popular to the younger audience. I needed to also make sure that disabled people were able to use my website so i made it easy to navigate and use colours that would stand out if they had visual impairment problems.

I think My website would look good in cross browser format I made it 1024 in width so it is maxed out in all browsers I tried it on safari,google chrome and internet explorer and It works on all three the only device it didn't work on was mobile devices but you would have to create a website just to suit their needs.

How i designed my website
The visual editor i used when creating my website was photoshop and included images that i got of the internet and some where handmade i created my logo on illistrator and I wanted to create a logo that wasn't offensive but had a bit of humour and i think that my logo has achieve this i think it would offend the older audience but the audience i am trying to go for the minority would find it funny rather than offensive. the boxes i created with the top 10 apps in and the apps of the week by coping then off the internet and editing them this was where i started getting the problems with because of editing issues. and finally added the links to social networking sites which i designed myself which take people from my index page to their index page. the colour scheme i used when creating my website was a light blue background with hints of white. the font i used when creating my website was captain america which i got from dafont.com. I had to check my spelling all of the time when editing my website because the world will be able to see it so i used Microsoft word of other spell checks to check all of my selling's.

The problems I had when creating my 1 page website

The problems I have experience when creating my 1 page website were First when I was creating my website on photoshop and Was doing my top 10 apps of the week the layout i wanted to have it was the apple layout with the list going down but with blackberry and windows there layout on there website is across which means that I would have to edit all of the apps by hand and try and get them in a format which would look the same as the apple iTunes style this took a lot of time to do and delayed my completion of the 1 page website.

The second problem i experience when creating my 1 page was transferring the content from photoshop to dreamweaver this was very fustrating and I encountered a lot of problems when doing this I think problems with the software programs and my knowledge of hand written websites made it difficult for me to complete the website and still to this day am having problems getting all of the boxes to the correct position adding the links because when I put it in live view the text changes which I am having problems which has mean delays to my project.

Content I used

This is where my i got all of my information on
apps that are on the iOS.

 The content I used when creating my website was information from iTunes about the latest apps of the top 10 apps of the week I also got content from blackberry App world with information on applications and I also got information from Windows store with loads of information about apps the rest of the content was either hand made or links which i inserted to Facebook twitter and youtube and links to my website. I would also need to get permission off apple, blackberry and Microsoft if i was going to turn this website into a business because of copyright laws and i would also need permission off the app developers to make sure that they are ok for me to make money out of their idea but a the mean time I am not making this website for financial purposes.

The software programs I used when creating my website were

• Dreamweaver

The type of webpage I used when creating my web page on dreamweaver is Html which stands for hype text markup language i also used css text to write some of my website out.

How I transfer my document to the web 

I used http://x10hosting.com/ to host my web page and use filezilla to transfer my web page to x10hosting and I put in by username and password for my x10hosting and the Ftp port 20/21,Ftp stands for file transfer protocol and this is a set of rules that make the internet and it is used to transfer files over the internet you need open port 20/21 in your firewall setting if you were having problems with transferring packages. css stands for cascading style sheet and what this is it is like command line interface compared to graphical user interface you can use both on dreamweaver you can graphically design it and you can also type it up by using css text this is easier to use compared to if you know how to use it compared to designing it yourself.

My final thoughts

If i did this project again I would not use dreamweaver because of the the faustration i would learn hand coding to make it easy to use and would pick a subject which was easy to design compared to apps which I have had problems with the layout. I got feedback from my peers and some of it was positive and some was negative so i took that advice and improved my product because thats the type of audience i am hoping to get for my website so there feedback was vital. the finished product i thought that my photoshop design was better than my dreamweaver but because of problems that i encounter when creating it on dreamweaver i was pleased with the finished product. I think that my technical competence has vastly improved after creating my 1 page website which is important to succeed in a future career.
